OKI DATA PRINTER (WHITE TONER, CLEAR COAT, AND MORE ON THE WAY)

OKI Data has donated a C941dn printer to The Art Institute of Philadelphia and Dean Harry Costigan gave me the honor of being the lead faculty member on the project. I have been incorporating the printer into the graphic design curriculum and into a online portfolio course for web and graphic design and photography that I teach. The results of the collaboration have been outstanding. The students and alumni have been so excited to get their hands on such a unique printer, rather than have to always hand off files to a service bureau. The printer can print white toner on colored stock, clear coats, and more specialty toners are in the works. Seeing the students experiment, trouble shoot and learn the finer points of print has been a great experience.

Jim Lyons, printing industry guru and faculty member, came to check out our work and interview us, you can read his article here on his blog Jim Lyons Observations
